Follow this link to access the latest R package, “FPCALSpackage_0.1.4.zip”. Along with the package, you will find workshop documentation and sample data to help you get started. The purpose of the R package/toolset is to assist FPC members with the analysis of airborne laser scanning (ALS) or LiDAR datasets. All the tools are developed using the open-source R scripting language. The toolset itself is intended to allow users with little or no R experience to process ALS point-clouds and generate spatial products via the use of a simple graphical user interface (GUI). The toolset will allow the user to perform all raw data processing operations needed to yield spatially explicit estimates for a number of forest metrics.
A tool has been added to this R package so the user can calculate Leaf Area Index from Landsat 7 ETM+, Landsat 8 or Sentinal-2 data using R. This tool and the other ALS tools can be accessed through a GUI or through the R terminal.
